My Father's Love ... A true story (Part 2)

After great effort on his part, as I stood, he stood. He didn’t want to let me go. Facing each other he held me close, put his arms tightly around me and crossed his hands behind me. I just knew I could feel that every bit of strength that he had left he was channelling into his arms from his elbows to his hands to hold me tight.

It was a special moment, one I treasure, and years on there are still times when I long for that again and always will. But then I smile as I realise that special moment was God given, and I see it as a picture of the love my heavenly Father has for me:

Our heavenly Father is concerned about every detail of our lives.
We don’t have to catch His gaze, He knows already, but longs for us to come to
Him to give Him all that worries us, all the things that hold us
To come just as we are, no pretence
To come as little children, and sit on His knee and rest a while in His presence – in the safety and security of His love;
To come, never too young or too old, never too big or too small; to Him who’s always there, no matter what;
To come ready to receive all that He wants to give us; and when we start to pull away, He draws us close again; stands with us and keeps His ever loving arms around us as we go through life’s momentary troubles;
… and this is just a glimpse of how great is His love!

A true story …. a Heavenly Father yes, an almighty and Holy God, who at the same time reaches down to you and to me, through Jesus, and why? Simply because He loves us.

We can all experience His love.
